Hazel coppice is a wonderful heritage practice that produces sustainable timber and promotes healthy trees and biodiversity by cutting down the hazel stools on a rotation of 5-10 years to produce a range of wonderful products from beanpoles to hazel hurdles. We are currently restoring the old coppice and introducing new saplings into the space created by removing the rhododendron.
